Reasons I need to learn to cook:

Thanks to tastespotting.com, I'm hungry and sad that I can't cook, and on the same token, might be driven to try. Probably starting with a simple salad or salsa... and no I'm not kidding.

I mean, how delicious do these things look?

It's memorial day and I want to be outside, having a cookout, swimming, and drinking beer. Why isn't this happening?

MUSHROOMS

I hate them. When I arrived at my family's cabin in Athens, Ohio late last month, my uncle Hank had just returned from a hike during which he found these edible/non-toxic morel mushrooms that he planned to cook and eat. He ended up getting really sick while we were there (not from the 'shrooms, har har), so these ended up sitting in the kitchen all weekend and plaguing me with their creepiness. EWWWWW!
